Bicycle Lock Cutting Service
If your bike is on UC Davis Property, and you have lost your bike keys or your bike lock is malfunctioning, TAPS can help (proof of ownership required). Call the Bicycle Program at 530-752-2453 or Click here to send an email and we can come out and cut your lock.
We do require that the bike have a valid California Bicycle License when we cut the lock. If it doesn’t, we can renew or register the bike anew when we cut the lock. A valid photo I.D. (e.g. student registration card or drivers license) will also be required.
TAPS lock cutting service is only available between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (not including University holidays).
If the bike is off campus, please call the city police department at 530-747-5400 for assistance. Be advised that they will probably require some evidence or proof of ownership, such as a bike license or sales receipt. They do not register bikes that are not licensed.
