Vanpool Guidelines
Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) assists in forming Vanpools but does not administer the Vanpool Program. Vans for Vanpools are leased by individuals from local Vanpool providers. Personal vehicles with seating for 6 or more riders also qualify for Vanpool designation. TAPS assists in contacting the Vanpool providers, Vanpool formation, start up subsidies, recruiting members, payroll deduction, parking and emergency rides.
Six or more people sharing one vehicle (VAN or SUV) on the majority of their commute trips to campus constitute a Vanpool. A Vanpool Application for the entire Vanpool must be completed. One member of the Vanpool should be designated as the Vanpool Coordinator. This person will be the contact person between the Vanpool and TAPS.
Enterprise Vanpool and VPSI are commercial Vanpool vendors providing vans and packages for Vanpools. These vendors assist in Vanpool formation. For more information visit their websites.
For more information or for assistance forming a Vanpool, please contact the TAPS Alternative Transportation Coordinator.
New riders must submit payroll deduction forms to TAPS by the 5th of the month prior to your start date. Example: Payroll deduction forms must be submitted by May 5th for the deduction to take effect on June 1st.
